Full-length CD release number four from Primal Fear finds the band sticking to the true power metal sound of their prior three releases. While it is easy to say that Ralf still sounds like the heir to the Rob Halford throne of vocalists and the music still sounds like a natural progression from Judas Priest's "Painkiller", Primal Fear definitely has carved their niche as one of the elite bands of the power metal genre. "Black Sun" instantly reassures you that the band have not gone off an experimented or changed their style. The vocals on "Armageddon" are so over the top that they near Udo in terms of being raw to the extreme. "Lightyears From Home" wanders into the Riot zone in similar fashion to the track "Dance Of Death". Primal Fear has earned the respect of the metal community and can be consider alongside Accept as one of the most important German metal bands ever.
