NUCLEAR FIRE - 2001 (NUCLEAR BLAST)

With this 3rd album, Primal Fear established its status as one of the best bands in the current metal scene. They changed the line-up once again. The guitar player Tom Naumann left the band cause he had problems with his heart. For his replace, the band called the experienced Henny Wolter (ex-Thunderhead). After a tour in Europe, Japan and many other countries like Brazil, the band got an own identity. Ralf Scheepers is singing best than ever. Stefan Leibing and Wolter are a great pair. The 12 songs of this album (13 for Japanese version) are authentic metal hymns. "Angel In Black" is an aggressive song with Ralf's great performance. "Kiss of Death" is one of those songs that stay in mind. This song reminds of the Judas Priest's "Hell Patrol". "Back From Hell" is almost a thrash metal song (the favourite style of Leibing) with great riffs. "Eye of an Eagle" is another amazing song with a great refrain. But the best song is "Iron Fist in a Velvet Glove" with a beautiful acoutic intro. This is a perfect song to listen to while driving a car. The best Primal Fear album. An obligatory in your collection.
